Webinar Invitation and Information Request

Hello,

This email contains a webinar invitation and an information request.

Trust for America’s Health Webinar

You’re invited to join a free 90-minute webinar hosted by Trust for America’s Health on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. ET. The webinar is titled, Ensuring COVID-19 Vaccine Access, Safety, and Utilization: Building Vaccine Confidence in Communities of Color.

As has been the case with previous public health emergencies, the COVID-19 pandemic is exposing racial inequities that have long existed in the U.S. Racial and ethnic disparities also continue in vaccine access due to contributing factors, such as lack of access to health coverage and care and issues of distrust. This webinar will feature expert panelists to educate policymakers and stakeholders on the historical reasons for vaccine hesitancy in communities of color, highlight ongoing vaccination disparities, and discuss policy recommendations to build vaccine confidence and access in communities of color.

Presenters include Dr. Wayne A. I. Frederick, Howard University President; Dr. Julie Morita, Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Executive Vice President; and Michelle Cantu, Director for Infectious Disease and Immunization at the National Association of County and City Health Officials.

Information Request

Please see the following Information Request from Colorado. If you are willing to share information, please reply to this email and include your contact information for follow-up.

INFORMATION REQUESTED

Colorado recently passed legislation requiring providers to report immunization and exemption data to the IIS. In addition, personal and religious exemptions will no longer be accepted and they will all be lumped into a non-medical exemption category.

With these changes, Colorado is evaluating its import processes and any changes that need to be made. Please provide insight into the following questions.

  • Are other awardees tracking exemptions within the IIS? If yes, how?
  • If exemptions are being reported via HL7 messaging, how is the message formatted? Do you see variations in message format, from different vendors? If yes, can you provide additional insight?

Responses to this information request will be summarized and posted in the AIRA repository, and can be found by using the “Information Requests” filter. Information requests are viewable only by individual members and individuals affiliated with member and partner organizations. Log in to view these valuable resources.
