Dear Colleagues,

The availability and use of quality medicines and vaccines is critical if UHC is to be a reality, and if the world is to reach the health SDGs. One third of the world’s population still lacks access to basic quality medicines.

The USAID funded Medicines, Technologies, and Pharmaceutical Services (MTaPS) Program https://www.mtapsprogram.org/ is excited to share TWO, FREE, online certificate courses available through the Global Health Learning Center: https://www.globalhealthlearning.org/program/pharmaceutical-systems-strengthening (GHEL).

Pharmaceutical Systems Strengthening (PSS) 101 (ENGLISH and FRENCH) https://www.globalhealthlearning.org/course/pharmaceutical-systems-strengthening-101 Completing this course will provide you with an overview of pharmacy systems and what is required to strengthen them. The course explores medicines regulation, financing, information systems, supply chain and quality assurance.

Good Governance in the Management of Medicines https://www.globalhealthlearning.org/course/good-governance-management-medicines Completing this course will provide you with an understanding of the importance of good governance throughout the process of pharmaceutical management (selecting, procuring, distributing, and using medicines), and important considerations when working with countries to implement improvement strategies.

Please take the courses and share with others. Let us work together to make quality medicines available to all.

Kind regards,

Andrew Brown PhD, BPharm, GCHE, Certificate IV Workplace Training Senior Principal Technical Advisor - Governance & Capacity Strengthening Adjunct Associate Professor, University of Canberra Program Delivery Group Management Sciences for Health Australia
