Information Request: IIS and Undocumented Immigrants

Hello,

Please see the following information request. If you are willing to share information, please reply to this email and include your contact information for follow-up.

Information Requested

The next phase of vaccination in Minnesota includes a job sector (food processing plants) that contains a large number of undocumented people. There isn’t data about whether or not these individuals are using their real name when seeking employment, but it is safe to assume that a good amount of them are not using their real name, but rather some other form of ID/Social Security number. It sounds like some employers may require proof of vaccination, which will have to show the name known to their employer. This may lead to fragmented records, which could cause confusion in the future if a complete immunization record is required.

Do any other programs have best practices for scenarios in which an individual may use different names for employment and health care? How do you handle this in your IIS?
